Least Trusted: Wolf Blitzer - 17%
One thing that most people agree on Wolf Blitzer, is that his non-aggressive style of questioning and measured approach makes him appear more diplomatic albeit, a little dull. Maybe 'CNN' viewers are looking for a little more enthusiasm and passion to enable them to really trust their host!
Blitzer has been a 'CNN' journalist since 1990, and thirty years on-air does give you a lot of credibility. Yet, when asked, 17% of survey respondents said they did not trust him at all. At the same time, 17% said they trusted him ‘a lot,' so it seems like he divides the crowd equally.
Least Trusted: Chris Hayes - 18%
It seems that viewers of ‘All in with Chris Hayes’ aren't too fond of its host. When asked, 18% said that they did not trust the progressive political commentator Chris Hayes at all. The 'MSNBC' news and opinion show host may have won a couple of Emmy’s, but this doesn’t seem to have changed the public's perceptions.
Hayes has been hosting the show since 2013: we can't help but wonder what makes him untrustworthy to some of his viewers. Maybe he will have more luck with the readers of his books, as his latest is a 'New York Times' bestseller’!
Least Trusted: Steve Doocy - 18%
Steve Doocy may be one of the hosts of ‘Fox & Friends,’ the popular American breakfast tv show on the 'Fox News' channel, but 18% of those surveyed said they did not trust him. Despite the show getting high ratings, the press does not seem to appreciate him much either, and they often give him poor reviews!
Doocy’s views have sometimes been criticized as ‘colorful,' so perhaps this hasn’t helped the viewers to place their credence in him. His real-time reporting attempts have not been too successful either, but maybe viewers will trust his son more: Peter Doocy is a reporter on the same channel too!
Least Trusted: Juan Williams - 19%
Having been a Democrat amongst Republicans at 'Fox News' since 1997, Juan Williams often has a different opinion to offer viewers during discussions. But, he will have to work harder if he wants to gain his audience’s trust.
Williams has been a regular at 'Fox News' since 1997. He is also widely known from the network, and for when he steps in as a guest host for their show ‘The O’Reilly Factor,' not to mention his articles for various prestigious newspapers. Yet, 19% just doesn't seem to think he's credible enough!
Least Trusted: Chuck Todd, 19%
'NBC’s political director, Chuck Todd, has split ‘Morning Consult’ survey respondents with 19% saying they do not trust him, and a similar number saying they trust him a lot. This still makes him one of the least trusted people in news, though!
Todd moderates the channel’s well-known show ‘Meet The Press’ on Sundays, and hosts its daily spin-off offering as well. The rest of the time he appears on the network as an on-air analyst. It looks like 'NBC' trusts him a lot more than some of the people who responded to the survey!
Least Trusted: Sean Hannity - 30%
Sean Hannity is a bit like the divisive British condiment, 'Marmite'; people either love him or hate him. The ‘Fox News’ presenter isn’t afraid to speak his mind, which is perhaps among the main reasons why people seem to have such differing opinions of the star.
While he might be one of the least trusted anchors on this list, people clearly enjoy watching him, as his segment still holds the spot for the highest views of any news channel. Whatever your opinion might be, you can’t help but admire Hannity for remaining true to his beliefs.
Least Trusted: Rachel Maddow - 26%
‘The Rachel Maddow Show’ is ‘MSNBC’s most popular show, consistently drawing excellent ratings, which is in part, down to its news anchor, Rachel Maddow. Maddow is not shy about discussing her liberal political views, which explains her place on this list. People do not always see eye to eye when it comes to politics, so it is understandable that not everyone will trust the presenter.
Since joining the show in 2008, following her radio career, she has proved many doubters wrong by her countless award nominations, proving that she is also loved by many.
Least Trusted: Don Lemon - 25%
People really started to notice Don Lemon during the 2016 elections when he was outspoken about his views on the situation. Now, as a leading news presenter holding a coveted primetime slot, Lemon still doesn’t hold back on telling his viewers precisely what he thinks when hosting ‘CNN Tonight.’
As with the previous “least trusted” anchors, we commend Lemon’s strength in being true to himself and sharing his honest opinions. With the 2020 election campaigns in full swing, viewers cannot wait to hear what Lemon will have to say next.
Least Trusted: Mika Brzezinski - 23%
Mika Brzezinski hosts 'MSNBC’s 'Morning Joe’ alongside her husband, Joe Scarborough. The morning news program is incredibly popular, with the show getting some of the highest TV ratings possible. We are sure this is down to its hosts, especially Brzezinski and her willingness to ask difficult questions and tell it like it is. When it comes to politicians, no matter how powerful, Brzezinski isn’t pulling any punches.
We love a strong, confident woman like Mika, who isn’t afraid to say exactly what she thinks. For some, she is perhaps a bit much, which has earned her a place on this list.
Least Trusted: Chris Matthews - 22%
As the name of his show ‘Hardball with Chris Matthews’ suggests, the presenter isn’t afraid to get into some spirited debates and doesn’t go easy on his guests. Having been a regular face on 'MSNBC' since 1999, and before then on ‘CNBC,’ many of his fans were saddened to hear of Matthews' retirement in 2020.
Viewers can’t help but wonder what this means for the show and if the star's replacement will be as dogged in their pursuit of the truth as Matthews. Regardless, after over 20 years of being in front of the camera, we think the 74-year-old has earned a well-deserved rest!
Least Trusted: Joe Scarborough - 22%
When we think of a strong voice discussing political matters in the media, the list seems incomplete without a mention of Joe Scarborough. Having served in the U.S House of Representatives as a Republican, he has a great deal of knowledge about current affairs!
This cable news host is known for his show ‘Morning Joe’ and has established himself as one of the most conservative personalities on the 'MSNBC' lineup. It is quite shocking to know that about 22% of people do not trust what Scarborough has to say with all the robust backing he seems to have. We're not too sure of how Joe is going to take this news!
Least Trusted: Tucker Carlson - 21%
Sometimes popularity and faith do not go hand in hand, as seen in Tucker Carlson’s case. He might have received high ratings by 'Fox News Channel' and secured the position of TV's favorite news anchor, but it seems the public doesn’t trust him enough. It was found that 21% of people do not have confidence in him at all!
A massive viewing of 4.331 million tuned in to see Carlson’s review on some of the world’s most powerful politicians, which proved how famous he is. We wonder what fine-tuning Carlson plans to do, so he can restore the public’s lost trust!
Least Trusted: Chris Cuomo, 20%
Best known as the presenter of ‘Cuomo Prime Time,’ Chris Cuomo has quite a few disagreements floating around in his name. It is ironic, but he may have been a part of the news more than reporting it himself.
We are assuming that one possible reason for 20% of people not trusting him, as discovered via a poll, can be because of a few viral videos on the internet. Cuomo is seen continuously searching for his secure nook but has always ended up finding setbacks. Let us see how he attempts to gain back the public’s trust!
Least Trusted: Laura Ingraham - 20%
Thanks to her 'Fox News' show ‘The Ingraham Angle,' Laura Ingraham has gained immense fame. She has managed to secure a renowned name as a television host but as unbelievable as it may sound, 20% of people in a poll have revealed that they do not trust her.
We feel her straightforward and no-filter nature as a news reporter is not taken in the best light, which might have created trust issues for the audiences. We can’t help but wonder what Ingraham has to say about the results of this poll!
Least Trusted: Anderson Cooper - 19%
You may recognize the shining white hair and black broad-framed spectacles from the show ‘Anderson Cooper 360°.' He is none other than Anderson Cooper, who has carved a place for himself in the news and broadcasting industry. He has also appeared in ‘Newsnight’ and ‘60 Minutes’ with viewers from all over the world.
It might come to your surprise that despite his frequent appearances on well-known news media platforms and popularity, 19% of people informed ‘Morning Consult’ that they do not trust Anderson Cooper. This sure doesn’t sound like good news for him!
Most Trusted: John Dickerson - 19%
'CBS News' has all the reasons for giving John Dickerson, project after project as the public has instilled full faith in him. According to a poll, it was discovered that 19% of people rely on what he has to say!
We feel that he gets this goodwill from successful hosting gigs like ‘CBS This Morning’ and ‘CBS Evening News.’ Moreover, he happens to be the White House correspondent for ‘Time,’ which gives all citizens a valid reason to trust his word. Looking at John's work, it seems like it's his destiny to be among the leading anchors in the world!
Most Trusted: Jake Tapper - 19%

Dana then took up her new role as the host of 'The Daily Briefing with Dana Perino,' which attracted the masses greatly because of all the sharp cuts she made on heavy subjects with incredible honesty.
Most Trusted: Gayle King - 22%
Gayle King stole our hearts with her charming demeanor and well-spoken countenance when she appeared on TV alongside Oprah Winfrey, as her most trusted friend and confidant. Now, almost four decades into her career, Gayle has 22% of the respondents say that she is incredibly trustworthy, in addition to being super relatable. Most Trusted: Craig Melvin – 21%
Among the topmost trusted news anchors of our times, Craig Melvin has managed to gain the love and respect of the nation and its people in an incredibly short period of time. We think the primary reason is that the man is quite a jolly character, and gets the right story across with a great sense of humor.
We're glad it did not take too long for the big leagues in the game to notice Craig and give him the attention he deserves. In fact, 'MSNBC' hired him only as a weekend reporter, but before you knew it, he had risen to the top as an 'NBC' correspondent!
Most Trusted: Chris Wallace – 22%
In the realms of cautious, careful reporting in the media, many great names in the scene tend to be too discreet. Nonetheless, there is one 'Fox News' anchor who keeps it real and continues to be a trusted host, fair to both conservative and liberal audiences. Chris has covered so many top-notch stories that many broadcasters dream to be a part of. In addition to being the host of 'Fox News Sunday,' he has also worked on 'Meet the Press' and even 'NBC Nightly News,' among others. We say that is a trustworthy résumé, what do you say?
Most Trusted: George Stephanopoulos – 23%
You would be surprised to hear this, but the media mogul, George Stephanopoulos's primary choice of career was not journalism. In fact, he used to work as a communications officer under one of the prominent figures in the country. Most of you might have seen him on 'NBC's primetime show 'Nightly News,' which he took over after Brian Williams – another credible anchor – left the show.
