Couple costumes are a long-time favorite of celebs, and these matching ensembles constantly bring them to the top of celebrity news. Here are some great ideas for you to consider for Halloween courtesy of the cutest couples in Tinseltown! Let's take a look at the best couple costumes these celebs have worn throughout the years.
Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin as Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz
Lisa Rinna is an actress known for her role in Days of Our Lives. She has also brought her private life to the forefront in reality TV shows like The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Harry Loves Lisa, which was completely centered on her family life with husband Harry Hamlin.
In 2010, Lisa and Harry attended the 17th Annual Dream Halloween, a yearly event with the goal of helping children with AIDS. They came dressed as the iconic I Love Lucy stars, Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, who, much like them, worked together in the entertainment industry.
Melissa Rycroft and Tye Strickland as Snooki and Pauly D
Melissa Rycroft first rose to fame for being the winner of the 13th season of The Bachelor. After being given the final rose, she went through a harsh heartbreak; that season’s bachelor, Jason Mesnick, ended up leaving her for the runner-up! However, love was just near Melissa and she hadn’t even realized.
She had already met Tye Strickland, a salesman. After her The Bachelor experience, they started dating and eventually got married. Here, we see them attending the 17th Annual Dream Halloween in Jersey Shore style. Melissa, who was pregnant at that time, and her hubby, Tye, dressed as two of the MTV reality show's stars, Snooki and DJ Pauly D.
Neil Patrick Harris & David Burtka as Groucho Marx and Charles Chaplin
A couple who knows how to do Halloween in style is Neil Patrick Harris and his husband, David Burtka. They went for a retro theme in this picture, and they even included their children. Harper dressed as Marylin Monroe while Gideon wore a hairstyle and clothing reminiscent of James Dean.
Meanwhile, David and Neil dressed as Charles Chaplin and Groucho Marx, respectively. They’ve been married since 2014, but they already got engaged years before. David is an actor turned celebrity chef, while Neil is a very well-known actor who's most recognized for his comedy roles in TV shows like How I Met Your Mother.
Hilary Duff and Joel Madden as Phantom of the Opera
Remember when former teen star Hilary Duff dated Good Charlotte's Joel Madden? Despite Hilary being only 16 at the time and Joel being 25, they fell madly in love. They created music together—Madden co-wrote some of the songs of Duff's album Most Wanted—and had a relationship for about two years before breaking up.
Their time together may not have lasted long, but at least they had their fair share of cute moments; just like this Halloween party where Joel was dressed as the Phantom of the Opera, while Hilary’s costume went with the same dark theme. Today, Madden is married to reality star Nicole Richie while Duff is engaged to singer-songwriter Matthew Koma.
Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott as a Peacock and Wolverine
Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott have been together since 2005. Their relationship began with infidelity on both their parts as they were still married to other people during that time. However, after getting divorced from their partners, they have built a beautiful family and what seems to be a strong marriage.
Here, they can be seen with two of their five children attending the 17th Dream Halloween Event. While McDermott and their son went for a matching Wolverine costume, Tori was dressed as a peacock as she carried their beautiful princess. Spelling recently produced and starred in a 6-episode Beverly Hills 90210 series titled BH90210, which aired from August to September 2019 on Fox.
Paris Hilton and Doug Reinhardt as Tooth Fairies
Paris Hilton and Doug Reinhardt were an on-again-off-again couple between 2008 and 2010. Paris, who is one of the most famous heiresses in the world, feared that Doug, a reality TV personality and minor league baseball player, might be using her. However, they looked very into each other at Heidi Klum’s Halloween party.
Paris and Reinhardt attended as tooth fairies, and both wore tiny tutus and white accessories. Paris’ main piece of jewelry was a beautiful headpiece, which reminded us more of a dancer than a fairy. After their breakup, Reinhardt started dating fellow The Hills alum Allie Lutz; they later got engaged.
Jessica Simpson & Eric Johnson as Grease's Danny and Sandy
Jessica Simpson knows when it’s time to be all about business and when to have fun. She celebrated Halloween in 2016 by dressing as Sandy from the hit movie, Grease. Meanwhile, her husband, former NFL tight end Eric Johnson, dressed as the movie's lead male character, Dany Zuko.
Jessica and Eric got married in 2014 and have three kids together. Simpson went from being an actress and singer to a successful businesswoman. She has created an empire through The Jessica Simpson Collection, a fashion line that posted billion-dollar revenues in 2015.
Scott Disick & Kourtney Kardashian as The Avengers
If there’s a couple who could give lessons in co-parenting, that is Scott Disick and Kourtney Kardashian. A year after their final breakup in 2015, they dressed up as Marvel superheroes with their three children. Scott was Captain America, Kourtney was a female version of Spiderman, Mason was Black Panther, Penelope was Black Widow, while Reign was Falcon for a day.
Kourtney is part of the infamous Kardashian-Jenner Klan; therefore, the in and outs of their almost decade-long relationship has been the subject of many Keeping Up with the Kardashians episodes. An October 2019 episode of their reality show even followed them on a vacation with Scott's current girlfriend, Sofia Richie, in Finland.
Kim Kardashian West & Kanye West as Catwoman and Batman
Reality star Kim Kardashian and her then-boyfriend, rapper Kanye West, showed that even the fiercest of enemies can have a good time together. Kim and Kanye started dating in April 2012. They celebrated Halloween and Kim’s birthday at the Miami nightclub, LIV, dressed as Catwoman and Batman.
Fast forward seven years, Kim and Kanye are now married with four children. They’ve had their last two children through surrogacy, as Kim had severe complications with her first two pregnancies. We’re sure they have matching family costumes prepared for this Halloween. We can hardly wait!
Josh Duhamel & Fergie as Mr. Incredible and Harley Quinn
We can only imagine how amazing it would’ve been to hear the doorbell on Halloween and meet this very cool family. One year before they announced they were filing divorce papers, Fergie and Josh Duhamel went all out. They went trick or treating in their neighborhood and wanted to look the part.
They surely had a lot of fun with their son, Axl, who was dressed as the Joker. Meanwhile, the Glamorous singer was dressed as Harley Quinn and the Transformers actor transformed as Mr. Incredible. Unfortunately, this was the last Halloween they celebrated as a couple as they went their separate ways in 2017.
Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi & Jionni Lavalle as Princess Leia and Darth Vader
You simply can’t fail with the classics. Snooki and her husband, Jionni LaValle, proved this during Halloween of 2015. Snooki, a reality TV personality, dressed as the legendary Princess Leia from Star Wars. Jionni joined her as Darth Vader, the villain of the extremely successful franchise.
Of course, their children couldn’t be excluded. This is why they dressed their son, Lorenzo, as Luke Skywalker while their daughter, Giovanna, was the lovable R2-D2. In May 2019, the couple welcomed their third child, a second boy whom they’ve named Angelo James LaValle.
Dylan Sprouse and Barbara Palvin as Future Trunks and Gaara
Another couple who attended the Heidi Klum Halloween party was Dylan Sprouse and Barbara Palvin. We all remember Dylan from his time on the show the Suite Life of Zack & Cody as well as the at-sea spin-off, The Suite Life on Deck. All grown-up now, Dylan attended this party with model Barbara Palvin in 2018.
Dylan and Barbara, who started dating in 2018, went on the anime route with their costumes. While Dylan looked straight out from Dragon Ball Z, the Victoria's Secret model went for Gaara, a character from Naruto. They’re still together and we hope they can bring something equally unique to any events they attend this year.
Bella Hadid and The Weeknd as Lydia and Beetlejuice
These costumes are undoubtedly scarier than most. For Heidi Klum’s 2018 party, Bella Hadid and The Weeknd went as Lydia and Beetlejuice. Their spot-on makeup and attire made it very realistic. Their effort was worth it, as they looked the part during this event.
Bella and The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel, had just gotten back together that year. They had broken up in 2016 due to their different schedules. Unfortunately, their reunion didn’t last long; they broke up again in 2019. Abel has been very open about his use of drugs, but it’s unknown if this played a role in their breakup.
Emily Hughes and Molly Fabbri as Post Malone and Justin Bieber
This is probably one of the funniest—and more modern—costumes we've seen in a while! Here, we have actress Emily Hughes, who is known for her theater work, and Molly Fabbri as Justin Bieber and Post Malone. They were attending Heidi Klum's 19th Annual Halloween Party in 2018.
Their costumes were really on point, with Fabbri even getting Malone's very identifiable face tattoos. Meanwhile, Hughes opted to wear tattoo sleeves and baggy clothes to better represent Justin's recent infamous style. We were more used to seeing Emily on girlier outfits that year due to her role in the play, The Big I Am.
Jasmine Sanders and Terrence J as Wilma and Fred Flintstone
We’re sure there were no sneaker shoes back in prehistoric times! However, aside from this huge detail, Jasmine Sanders and Terrence J’s costumes are very accurate. They looked great as Wilma and Fred Flintstone from the animated show, The Flintstones. And what a beautiful couple this pair made!
However, they broke up the year after they attended this 2017 party, which was hosted by singer Kelly Rowland. Since then, Terrence has had different acting roles in film and television. Meanwhile, Sanders has continued her modeling and fashionista career. In October 2019, she was announced as the cover girl for the next issue of Maxim magazine.
Skylar Astin and Anna Camp as Wayne and Garth
Skylar Astin and Anna Camp decided to bring a bit of humor to the Hulaween Event hosted by Bette Midler. Skylar and Anna met each other on the set of Pitch Perfect. They started to see each other romantically after Anna separated from her then-husband. Skylar and Anna dated for three years before getting engaged.
The marriage only lasted for three more years, and their divorce became final in August 2019. However, we'll always have this Halloween costume in which they brought Saturday Night Live to this charitable event. Anna currently has two upcoming films, Desperados and The Lovebirds, while Skylar is part of the upcoming Disney+ movie, Secret Society of Second Born Royals.
Calista Flockhart and Harrison Ford as Nerds
Calista Flockhart and Harrison Ford are easily one of our favorite Hollywood couples. Flockhart and Ford dressed as nerds in 2012 to go out and enjoy the festivities in their neighborhood. It's quite interesting since there are a lot of fans who geek out on their acting projects: Ford's Indiana Jones and Star Wars and Flockhart's Ally McBeal and Supergirl.
Flockhart and Ford started dating in 2002 after they met during that year's Golden Globe Awards. They got engaged on Valentine's Day in 2009 and eventually got married a year later in New Mexico. The couple has a son together named Liam, whom they welcomed through adoption.
Mauricio Umansky and Kyle Richards as Zorro and Elena
We’ve seen a lot of Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky's private life thanks to the reality show, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Kyle, a TV personality, and Mauricio, a real estate agent, have been married since 1996. They started dating two years before that. Umansky has been like a father to Kyle’s first daughter, Farrah.
They have three more daughters together, and they like to celebrate Halloween big time. Kyle is always very excited to put up all the decorations around their house. Therefore, we’re not surprised at how well they looked dressed as the hero Zorro and his ladylove, Elena, for this Halloween party.
Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber as Slash and Axl Rose
This family surely has modeling in their DNA. Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber were in the modeling industry before they got married. Now, their children, Kaia and Presley, have both gotten involved in the industry as well. Just see how awesome Cindy and Rande look!
They looked ageless in 2013 when they dressed as rockers, Slash and Axl Rose. They attended Mike Meldan's Halloween party, which took place in the exclusive neighborhood of Beverly Hills. We're sure everyone felt their rock and roll vibes, as their costumes were outstanding! It seems like the couple is now thriving in the business scene; in January 2019, they announced their plan to purchase the diner Nate 'N Al.
Brian Grazer and Veronica Smiley as Run DMC
Brian Grazer has been named as one of the most influential people in the world. This is thanks to his company, Imagine Entertainment, which he founded with filmmaker Ron Howard. Grazer's work as a producer has earned him a number of recognitions, including an Academy Award he shares with Howard for the full movie, A Beautiful Mind.
Brian and Veronica Smiley became engaged in 2014. In this photo of them attending a Halloween party at Casamigos Tequila, they were dressed as the hip-hop group, Run-DMC. We're sure they were very comfortable given how sporty their attires look. Brian and Veronica got married in 2016.
Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani as Vampires
Back in 2014, Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani seemed to have a very happy marriage. They were parents to three sons together, and they would coordinate their Halloween costumes. Here, we can see them slay the costume game when they attended Kate Hudson's Halloween party that year. However, one year later, Stefani filed for a divorce.
Gwen, the lead singer of No Doubt, and Gavin, English rock band Bush's frontman, were together for 10 years. Shortly after their marriage ended, Gwen started dating her fellow judge in the singing competition The Voice, country singer Blake Shelton. Their vampire days might be behind them, but Gwen and Gavin continue to co-parent their three children.
Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie as Burglars
Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie decided to have some fun while they awaited their baby boy. In Halloween of 2011, they dressed as burglars to celebrate the holiday. We could see Hilary’s very pregnant belly in the funny pictures they took. They had gotten married the year before and all seemed well.
Three years after this fun night-out, Duff, a singer and actress, and Comrie, a former NHL player, announced their separation. Hilary eventually moved on and welcomed her second child, a girl this time. She later got engaged to her daughter's father, musician Matthew Koma.
Jessica Alba and Cash Warren as Romy and Maverick
What we don't see in this picture is Jessica's true partner for this Halloween party. Here, Jessica is dressed as Romy, from Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion. Her old friend, Kelly Sawyer, attended the party as Michelle, completing the other half of Jessica's costume.
Jessica was pictured hand-in-hand with her husband, Cash Warren, at the Casamigos Halloween party in 2015. Cash dressed as Maverick from the hit film Top Gun. The couple met on the set of the 2005 movie Fantastic Four and got married in 2008. Shortly after their honeymoon, they welcomed the first of their three children.
Ali Larter and Hayes MacArthur as Bees
One could almost say that Final Destination actress Ali Larter and comedian Hayes MacArthur got stung by love...no? Ok, but they do look adorable as a pair of bumblebees. They were caught on camera for this Halloween two years after their wedding in 2009. However, if it had been up to Ali, they would've wed sooner.
Ali, who is also a successful author, admitted that she could already see herself married to Hayes only weeks after they started dating. This is how sure she was of their love. They got married after two years of dating and now have two children.
Kelly Osbourne and Luke Worrall as Bacon and Eggs
Bacon might not be the best for our nutrition, but who can resist a morning plate of bacon and eggs? This couple showed their sense of humor with this complementing costume. On Halloween in 2009, they were already engaged and looking forward to a future—and breakfast meals—together.
Unfortunately, they split in 2010 after cheating allegations involving Luke and another woman. Despite this, we'll always remember them this way. We think Kelly might cringe if she looks at this picture now, especially considering how much of a fashionista she has become since then.
Nick Jonas and Olivia Culpo as a 1920s Couple
Back when they were still an item, beauty queen Olivia Culpo and singer Nick Jonas hosted a costume party in Las Vegas. Here, we can see them as a couple from the '20s. Nick looks like a gangster while Olivia embraced the flapper style. Olivia, a former Miss Universe, and Nick, who rose to fame as part of The Jonas Brothers, were together for two years.
After their amicable separation in 2015, they both started dating other people. Nick got married to Priyanka Chopra, an actress and former Miss World, in December 2018. Jonas is currently making a comeback with his brothers after a few years of pursuing a solo career.
Len Wiseman and Kate Beckinsale as Frankenstein's Monster and His Bride
When Kate Beckinsale and Len Wiseman met on the set of the movie Underworld, they were still both involved in relationships with other people. Despite rumors of adultery, they've always denied getting together before ending their relationships. They got married in 2004, a year after they met.
They were together for 13 years before going their separate ways. Here, we see them as Frankenstein's monster and his bride at a Hollywood party that took place in 2010. They were joined by Beckinsale's ex and friend, Michael Sheen. Sheen and Beckinsale share a daughter named Lily.
John Cusimano and Rachael Ray as Roger Rabbit and Jessica Rabbit
Rachael Ray has undoubtedly become one of TV’s phenomena. With a myriad of shows, books, and even cookware brands, the Food Network celebrity chef has shown the world that she can do it all. She married singer John Cusimano in a spectacular wedding ceremony in Italy. They own two homes in New York, where they spend most of their time.
It was in the city that never sleeps that they wore these great costumes. Rachael dressed as the ever-beautiful Jessica Rabbit, while John showed he was her perfect match dressed as Roger Rabbit. This took place during the filming of one of the episodes of The Rachael Ray Show in 2010.
Heidi Klum and Tom Kaulitz as Princess Fiona and Shrek
There's probably no other celeb who's slaying Halloween more than supermodel Heidi Klum. She once again showed her love for the holiday during her annual Halloween party. In this 19th edition of the event, Heidi completely transformed as Princess Fiona. She was accompanied by her then-fiancé, rocker Tom Kaulitz, who, of course, dressed as Shrek.
Both German natives, the couple had been dating since the beginning of 2018. Kaulitz, who is a member of the band Tokio Hotel presented Heidi with a ring during the Christmas holidays. They eventually got married in August 2019. We wonder how Heidi is going to surpass herself after this amazing costume.
Orlando Bloom & Katy Perry as Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton
We might have been confused at first. But that troll-like figure in the back? That’s Orlando Bloom dressed as US President Donald Trump. Contrary to what many people thought, the man dressed as Bill Clinton was actually Katy Perry’s agent! The Roar singer, who went as Hillary Clinton, had to endure hours of face contouring makeup and prosthetics to get the look.
Katy and Orlando, who is best known for his roles in the movies Pirates of the Carribean and The Lord of the Rings, started dating in 2016. Their relationship had a slow start. They even took a break for a year before getting back together and confirming their engagement in 2019.
