Brides can be quite demanding. And rightfully so because for most people, one big wedding is all they get. Fortunately, every blushing wife-to-be usually has a team of bridesmaids to help her make it through the big day.
Well, bridal parties and groomsmen have been known to be quite good sports and go along with anything the bride decides. Terrible outfit choices often land bridal parties on the worst dressed lists, and there are also unforeseen incidents that happen and are documented by chance. We’ve rounded up some of these looks that will leave you wondering what the bride was thinking.
The Mustache Gang
Sometimes, a vision starts with plaid and then the bride goes crazy with the colors and the end result is the photo above. The retro theme would have turned out great, perhaps, if they chose another design for the dresses, but that’s now all left in the past.
As if that wasn’t enough, this bridal party decided to wear fake mustaches for this photo. They couldn’t muster a smile for the photo session and seem to be re-thinking their decision to be a part of the bridal party. You still have to give it to them for holding their heads up high.
Ladies In Pink
We wonder what Chris De Burgh would have written had he met these ladies before releasing his famous hit Lady In Red. These ladies in pink are hard to miss in their form-fitting puffy dresses complete with matching hair accessories.
These are amongst the dresses you ditch soon after the ceremony. In fact, there’s a reason why most bridesmaids only wear their gowns just once, much like the bride. Behind them, the bride sports an even puffier dress with what looks like the highest slit ever. On the plus side, it’s pretty difficult to get lost in a crowded venue when wearing these outfits.
What Just Happened?
Several things might go wrong during the big day and most couples wouldn’t want them documented. Some of them are caught on the video or photos from the day, and from the looks of what’s going on above the photographer managed to capture the reaction of the bride and groomsmen witnessing something going wrong.
From the looks of it could have been they saw someone suffering an unfortunate slip and fall incident. We’ve seen several photos of a member of the bridal party or groomsmen taking a plunge into a pool, and this might be the other side of it showing the reaction of those around them.
Curtain-Inspired Bridesmaid Dresses
Brides have a lot on their plate when preparing for the big day. They have to find a perfect wedding gown for themselves and also a set of dresses for the bridesmaids. While they do get help from their bridal party, the bride makes the ultimate decision.
The lady above must have been truly inspired by the fabric of the curtains hanging around and chose it for her poor bridesmaids. Perhaps, the curtain was a product of some leftover fabric from the bridesmaids' dresses. Their bouquets even blend with the pattern.
A Santa-Themed Ceremony
It’s Deja Vu all over again as it seems we have seen this look before. The bridesmaids look like they are wearing Santa Claus-inspired dresses complete with fur trimmings. They even went for fur headbands to accessorize the look.
The bride herself has what looks like a miniature cake on her head, and it doesn’t help that they look like they are holding mistletoes as bouquets. The bridesmaid to the right doesn’t seem all too pleased to be there. We sure do hope that this was a ceremony that took place during the freezing winter days around the Christmas holidays.
The Dump Before The Dunk
We can imagine that it’s time for the groom to take his spot while waiting for his lovely wife-to-be to walk down the aisle. However, the effects of the crazy night he had with his groomsmen start catching up with them and they all need to make a beeline to the loo.
Maybe it signifies that the groom was dumped on his big day right by the porta-potty. Only the groomsmen know what inspired the stinking idea for the photo above, and an unlucky wife out there has to live with this picture in her photo album.
Not So Green With Joy
These two must be really great friends with the bride because there isn’t any other explanation about why they’d subject themselves to these atrocious outfits. Yes, the big day lasts just one day, but photos last a lifetime. They might have smiled for the camera, but we are sure that they aren’t so green with joy.
This appears to have been a dress-fitting, and hopefully, the end product did some justice for the two. The real nightmare would have been if the bride had these dresses ordered off of an online store and this is what they received. On the plus side, there’s room for transforming these outfits into Halloween costumes.
A Grand Gesture
Most brides have a list as short as a puffy wedding dress for their big day, but it’s not every day that you see the same look on bridesmaids. This bride might have seen it as a grand gesture, choosing dresses with a hot pink hue for her bridal party with matching accessories.
By the looks of it, even the bride seemed like she's second-guessing her choices in the photo above, and they all seem rather disinterested in taking the photo. Fortunately, there are lots of costume parties these days where these outfits would be appropriate, but we doubt the lot above ever wore the outfits again.
A Rainbow Mismatch
We all have different preferences when it comes to fashion, and most of us like different colors more than others. The bride above seems to have given her bridal party the liberty of going with the color of their choice for their dresses.
While the dresses aren’t offensive on their own, they just don’t blend all too well collectively. Perhaps, the couple decided to choose a rainbow theme for the day given that the bouquets are equally as colorful. Fortunately, the groomsmen didn’t go the same route of wearing different colored suits for the occasion.
Winter Madness
Let's start by celebrating the bridal party above because they prove that when a couple decides to tie the knot, nothing else should matter. The bride chose these confusing outfits for her bridesmaids featuring purple silk, white fur, and topped off with interesting fascinators.
The props in the picture just raise more questions because we can see the bridesmaids holding what looks like hand warmers. A stuffed penguin and a pink deer plushie are also lying around. We sure do hope that the ceremony at least took place during winter, but it still doesn’t excuse the horrible outfits.
Caped Bridesmaids
The look that the bridesmaids are spotting above isn’t the worst we’ve seen, but you have to wonder about the theme for the day. It looks like the couple exchanging vows were quite religious because that’s what the lace capes seem to represent.
If anything, this bride was also a good spot for letting her bridal party wear white on her big day. We are more curious about the type of ceremony because it seems to have a twist to it. Either way, the hooded capes are workable into other clothes for different occasions.
Pastel Explosion
Pastels can be trendy, but the execution matters a lot. And on the above bridal party, it doesn’t look right. Between the hats, the conservative ensembles, and the pastel-hued flowers, the bridal party’s combined looks aren’t cohesive.
Regardless, the bride looks proud of the accomplishment, and we are assuming she’s the one whose dead center in the photo. For some reason, she allowed the lady to her immediate right to sport some white elements, which creates a momentary confusion. The bridal party also deserves a round of applause for appearing present in the moment.
Boys Will Always Be Boys
Boys will be boys, and a special occasion celebrating the union of a couple doesn’t stop them from horsing around. The professional photographer often has the task of trying to direct the groomsmen and bridesmaid when taking pictures to document the day. However, the team above seems to have directed their own photos.
The lot took selfies and set up the pose for what they believed would be an epic photo opportunity. Perhaps, the instructions they received about the selfies was to make them as goofy as possible, and we wonder what the bride thought about it.
Groomsmen Vs. Bridesmaids
What do you know? We thought we’ve seen it all when it comes to the activities that take place after a couple ties the knot. The photo session is an important part of the big day because they are the memories that remind them of that special occasion.
In the photo above, it seems like the bridesmaids and groomsmen are about to kick off a dueling game of football with the lovely couple as quarterbacks. The seriousness they put into the formation makes it highly believable that they were just about to play the sport. We highly doubt that the bride and her bridal party would play a sport in their designer dresses.
The Darwinian Groomsmen
We’d love to see the reaction of the bride who thought that she was getting a bunch of sentimental photos from her big day and this is what she got. The group above gets some props for their creativity, but we are sure that goofing around wasn’t part of the deal.
To give them credit, it’s not the worst photo idea out there, but the bride would have a hard time explaining to extended family members what exactly was going on at that time. If anything, it’s one of those photos the groom can use to prove to his kids that he’s always been a cool guy.
The King's Big Day
You have to wonder who comes up with the ideas for those commemorative photos for the big day. The wedding day can be nerve-wracking, and perhaps taking getting-ready pictures like the one above helps to relieve the anxiety.
The only question we have is how the bride reacted to the photos showing “the king” of the day receiving the pampering he needs before walking down the aisle. There are some pictures that brides appreciate more because they give an insight into what the groom’s getting-ready process was like. If she had a terrible time herself, she wouldn’t want to see that the groom had a chance to goof off with his mates.
A Justice League Wedding
Ever wondered how the big day for a member of the Justice League would look like? Would they turn up in their superhero costumes or regular clothes? Well, we have a visual representation of Captain America’s photo session, or at least the next best thing.
You have to give them props for including the bride and her bridesmaids in the shenanigans. Both the bride and the groom also deserve an equal share of the spotlight. The two seem to have found a middle ground and gave us this photo to share in the laughter.
An '80s Bridal Party
Who would subject their closest friends and possibly family members to the nightmare above? A bride sure would and she would hold her head up smiling for the photos. We want to believe that this picture is from the '80s or way before that.
The design of the baby pink dresses look like something kids back then would wear to a high school prom. They even paired the look with matching headbands. At least, this is amongst the few photos that we’ve seen where everyone is smiling for some reason.
Red Riding Bridesmaids
We are now curious and want to know if hooded dresses are a trend for weddings we didn’t know about. We imagine that if Red Riding Hood walked down the aisle, this is how her bridal party would look like.
We’ll agree that the hooded dresses aren’t the worst-poking outfits we’ve seen on bridesmaids, but they are rather misplaced. The lady next to the bride doesn’t seem all too happy that she’ll forever be documented wearing the ensemble. On the upside, the hoods mean they don’t need any jewelry to complete the look.
Flower Power
Some brides just love floral prints, and they’ll find a way to incorporate it into everything—including the bridesmaids' dresses. This is what we imagine it would look like if flowers exploded, leaving the scene a floral mess.
Perhaps, the ceremony took place in spring when everything is blooming and the bride borrowed inspiration from the vibrant colors of the season. Lucky for the maid-of-honor (we assume she’s the one in the plain yellow dress), she dodged the massive floral attack. Maybe that was the vision; to make the bridesmaids look like a colorful matching bouquet.
Not Exactly "Black Tie"
It’s hard to get a sports fanatic out of their favorite jersey, and the crew above decided to rock them to the big day. The groom concealed his jersey underneath a white suit. But lucky for him, he had the chance to reveal it during the photo session.
The guys even struck a pose as if they are shooting some hoops, and we just hope that there wasn’t a big game going on that day. Behind it all, a bride decided to let the love of her life incorporate his love for basketball into their big day.
Best Socks Forward
These groomsmen took it a step further and put their best socks forward for the big day. They obviously knew that no one would get the chance to see their snazzy socks, so they had to showcase them somehow. It’s also interesting how they all have almost matching pairs of shoes.
The photo sessions present an opportunity for the bridesmaids and groomsmen to have a much-deserved break from the stress of the day. The groomsmen are the ones who often take the opportunity to goof off in front of the camera.
"I Find Your Lack Of Suits Disturbing..."
Brides don’t always take it kindly that the groomsmen seem to have lots of fun during the big day while they are left to handle everything else. The photo above depicts what would happen when the force takes over the big day to have her vengeance.
One guy at the back hilariously still has his feet firmly on the ground, while everyone else—including the groom—looked like they were picked up by an invisible choking force. Wouldn’t it also be that much more awesome if the idea came from the bride herself? They must be huge Star Wars fans, and now they have this epic photo to show it.
You May Now Kiss the Groom
This isn’t a scene you see every day, and these groomsmen decided to show the main man a bit of love in their own special way. One way to get the grooms to loosen up is to harass and embarrass them. Yes, the big day is all about them, but it’s easy for them to forget it.
The lot above know their role well, and the groom’s reaction shows that their tactic worked because he sports the most perfect smile for the picture-perfect moment. We just hope that this is as far as it went.
The Man With The Bragging Rights
Who said that it’s only the newlywed wife who has the bragging rights of showing off her shiny diamond ring? The groom above is equally proud to display his new bling, letting his mates know that he is officially off the market.
His mates are the kind you want with you when playing charades or poker because they can clearly “put on a face”. The best part about it is the fact that it appears to be a military man tying the knot, judging from the uniformed men around him.
Sharing The Spotlight
They say that it’s impolite to wear white to someone else’s big day, but what if the bride’s fine with it? That’s what appears to have happened above, and the bride didn’t mind sharing the spotlight with her bridesmaids. The only problem is that it might have been confusing to spot who's tying the knot.
A closer look clears that up because we can all conclude that the second lady from the right is definitely the bride. The groomsmen also don an identical look, which doesn’t make it any easier. If anything, we are sure they had lots of laughs confusing their guests.
Bobblehead Groomsmen
A number of couples choose to give their guests special gifts for attending the big day. Often, it’s gift bags filled with keepsakes that remind them of the couple’s special day. Above, it seems that they decided to go for bobbleheads for the groomsmen.
As funny as it is, bobbleheads make the perfect gifts for groomsmen who enjoy such novelty keepsakes. The uncanny resemblance the groomsmen above have with the miniature versions of themselves makes us want to find out where the bride and groom did their shopping for the gifts.
The Chaotic Photo Session
Sometimes, the best photos that come out of the big day are perfectly imperfect, and that’s what we get from the picture above. It seems like the groomsmen and the bridal party re-enacted a rescue mission from one of their favorite movies.
The location of the photoshoot plays into their chaotic rescue mission, but there’s just too much going on for us to make sense out of it. Maybe that was the whole idea because, in a sense, it symbolizes everything that goes on behind the scenes to make the big day happen.
Leaving The Boys Behind
What’s going on here? Are they trying to keep the groom away from the bride or showing a symbolism of what marriage means to them? In a sense, the bride is taking away their friend, and the groomsmen are trying to do what they can to keep him from going.
Maybe the couple decided that their photo session was the perfect moment to take one of those hashtag photos for their social media. Either way, the bride still steals the show with her stunning lavish gown, and we are sure she got to take her husband home.
The Butterfly Squad
There’s no way the photo above is from an actual wedding. The members of the bridal party are all dressed up in what we believe are outfits they bought from a Halloween store. It’s definitely an unusual ensemble for a bridal party, and the bride isn’t winning any awards either for her gown.
This bride must have had a serious love for nature and everything about it to decide that her bridesmaids should dress up as butterflies. Maybe the wedding actually fell on October 31st, which would explain why they decided to go for costumes for the day.
