The competitive world of show business favors youth. It's a sad fact that the modeling industry, for instance, isn’t too accommodating to older models. It’s the reason why some celebrities go above and beyond just to look decades younger.
However, there are a select few who haven’t turned to surgery but surprisingly look younger than their actual years or at least younger than other celebs their age. We’ve rounded up a list of celebrities who share the same birth year, but you would barely know it just from their looks.
Paul Giamatti and Vin Diesel - 52
Birth certificates don’t lie, and these two actors have 1967 listed as their birth year. Paul Giamatti is known for playing roles that depict him as a middle-aged man while Vin Diesel is known for his roles in action movies. They are both 52, as of 2019, but we are finding it hard to believe it.
Fortunately, they are both still hard at work. Giamatti is set to appear in Jungle Cruise and Gunpowder Milkshake. Diesel has an equally long list of scheduled film credits including the 2020 superhero film Bloodshot and the two Avatar sequels scheduled for 2021 and 2023.
Gwen Stefani and Cate Blanchett - 50
We became better acquainted with Gwen Stefani as the frontwoman of the popular 2000s band No Doubt. Meanwhile, award-winning actress Cate Blanchett has several successful films in her portfolio including The Talented Mr. Ripley and Oceans 8. Although one is a singer while the other is an actress, they both have one thing in common: they are turning 50 in 2019.
Both born in 1969, Stefani’s birthday falls in October while Blanchett already celebrated hers in May 2019. They both look years younger than their actual age, but we have to give it to Stefani for her flawless skin. We wouldn’t mind hearing more about her skincare routine.
Jay-Z and Matthew Perry - 50
In December 2019, Jay Z will mark his 50th birthday, which will make him the same age as Friends star Matthew Perry. Perhaps, it’s his involvement and dominance in the music industry for years now that makes us believe that Jay-Z looks considerably younger.
Perry’s health took a turn in 2018, and he had surgery to treat a gastrointestinal perforation. He shared a tweet around September assuring fans that he had recovered from the surgery. Jay-Z, who has 22 Grammy wins to his name, became the very first rapper to become a Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee in 2017.
Kim Kardashian and Christina Ricci - 39
Kim Kardashian and Christina Ricci share more than just recognition as well-known celebrities. They were both born in 1980, and Kim will turn 38 in October 2019. We already knew Ricci for a decade before Kim started rising to fame in 2003; having already graced several films including The Addams Family and Sleepy Hollow.
Perhaps, it’s the reason why we might think that Kim is younger because we feel like Ricci has been around for quite a long time. Ricci is still involved in showbiz and is set to appear in the 2019 film Escaping the Madhouse, while Kim continues to star in their family's reality TV show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
Ryan Gosling and Macaulay Culkin - 39
It's been 29 years since the first Home Alone movie was released, and the star of the series of movies, Macaulay Culkin, just turned 39. Surprising as it may be, he’s age-mates with La La Land star Ryan Gosling, who will turn 39 in November.
Culkin has had issues with drugs in the past, and it might have added years to his appearance. Gosling, on the other hand, has always been considered a heartthrob since he gained wider recognition after appearing in The Notebook. Gosling has been with actress Eva Mendes since 2011, and they have two daughters together. Meanwhile, Culkin looks quite happy with his girlfriend and Changeland co-star, Brenda Song.
John Oliver and Chadwick Boseman - 42
It’s hard to wrap our heads around the fact that Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman will turn 42 in November 2019. That will make him the same age as English comedian/ TV host John Oliver. They also have almost the same net worth; with Boseman worth an estimated $8 million while Oliver is worth $10 million.
In 2019, Chadwick’s acting portfolio now includes Avengers: Endgame and 21 Bridges. He’s also set to appear in the upcoming Spike Lee war drama Da 5 Bloods. Oliver also dabbles in film and has voiced the role of porcupine Steve in the 2019 animation Wonder Park.
Nick Offerman and Matt Damon - 49
There’s simply no way that actor Matt Damon is the same age as Nick Offerman, who rose to greater fame appearing in Parks and Recreation as a middle-aged man. Damon is known for his roles in a wide range of film genres including the 1999 thriller The Talented Mr. Ripley, the 2009 biopic Invictus, and the 2015 sci-fi The Martian.
The two celebrities were both born in 1970, but Damon is just three months younger than Offerman. Interestingly, Offerman exchanged vows with actress Megan Mullally just two years before Damon had his nuptials with Luciana Bozan.
Michelle Pfeiffer and Annette Bening - 61
Annette Benning and Michelle Pfeiffer are yet another mind-boggling cases of celebrities who are actually age-mates. The two entertainers were both born in 1958, making them 61. Bening started her career in 1980 with the Shakespeare Festival company. She's a Screen Actors Guild and BAFTA Award-winner who has appeared in films like The Grifters and most recently in the 2019 superhero film Captain Marvel.
Pfeiffer, who has a Golden Globe award to her name, is typically cast in roles as a pretty girl. Her first leading role was in Grease 2, and she most recently had a cameo in Avengers: Endgame. She’s set to appear in the upcoming movie Maleficent: Mistress of Evil.
Brad Pitt and Dean Norris - 56
Brad Pitt has been in celebrity news headlines a lot since his split with Maleficent star Angelina Jolie. The court finally restored their single status in April 2019, making the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star, who will celebrate his 56th birthday in December, an eligible bachelor once again.
He shares the same birth year with actor Dean Norris, who is best known for his role as a DEA agent in the AMC show Breaking Bad. Norris had a start in the industry in 1985, just two years before Pitt appeared in the film Hunk.
Adele and Vanessa Hudgens - 31
When actress Vanessa Hudgens celebrates her 31st birthday in December 2019, she’ll be the same age as English singer-songwriter Adele. The two were both born in 1988 and have enjoyed successful careers in the entertainment industry. Hudgens rose to fame in 2008 after appearing in Disney’s High School Musical TV films alongside Zac Efron.
Just two years before, Adele graduated from college and signed with XL Recordings. Since then, Hudgens has kept on landing roles in notable productions like Spring Breakers and The Princess Switch. The Grammy-winning Adele is set to release another album, her fourth one, in December 2019.

Ferrell had his big break as a Saturday Night Live cast member in 1995, but he started out as a stand-up act with The Groundlings comedy group. Ferrell met actress Viveca Paulin at an acting class, and they got married in 2000. Urban is married to actress Nicole Kidman.
Halle Berry and Robin Wright - 53
Academy Award winner Halle Berry and Golden Globe winner Robin Wright have something else in common aside from acting awards and successful careers. The two are both 53! While Berry was trying out her luck at the Miss World pageant in 1986, Wright appeared in her first film, Hollywood Vice Squad.
Berry had her screen debut in 1991 and has gone on to appear in notable films like Monster’s Ball and The Call. Lincoln is currently busy on the set of the upcoming drama film Penguin Bloom, while Parsons recently appeared as a prosecuting attorney in the biographical crime drama Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.
Chris Rock and Piers Morgan - 54
Comedian Chris Rock is one of those celebrities who barely seem to age and that’s why it’s surprising that he’s the same age as TV personality Piers Morgan. They both celebrated their 54th birthday in 2019 just a month apart. Aside from sharing the same birth year, they also have both been divorced.
After Rock’s marriage to Malaak Compton ended in 2016 due to infidelity, he is now in a relationship with 36-year-old actress Megalyn Echikunwoke. Morgan found love again and married journalist Celia Walden in 2010, and they welcomed their first child together in 2011. Rock currently has four upcoming movies, while Piers still hosts various shows including Good Morning Britain.
Kate Upton and Selena Gomez - 27
The fact that Selena Gomez is baby-faced makes her look younger than she is, so it’s hard to imagine that she’s the same age as model Kate Upton. They are both 27, but Gomez could pass for someone in their early 20s.
Gomez rose to fame as a Disney Channel star while Upton started her modeling career on Sports Illustrated. Upton is also an actress and has appeared in films like Tower Heist and The Layover. Gomez had a kidney transplant in 2017 and withdrew from public life for a while as she recovered.
Thomas Brodie-Sangster and Liam Hemsworth - 29
Australian actor Liam Hemsworth has recently been featured a lot in the latest celebrity news after his split with wife Miley Cyrus. Another piece of information most people might not know is that Hemsworth is the same age as English actor Thomas Brodie-Sangster. They are both just a year shy from their 30th birthday, but Maze Runner star Brodie-Sangster barely looks it.
Hemsworth has starred in notable films like The Last Song and The Hunger Games movies. Brodie-Sangster, on the other hand, had his debut on Love Actually and also starred in The Maze Runner and Game of Thrones. In August 2019, Hemsworth appeared on Killerman and also initiated a legal separation from Miley.
Jamie Lee Curtis and Ellen DeGeneres - 61
Jamie Lee Curtis battled with alcohol addiction and, fortunately, became sober. She’s appeared in several notable productions starting with the film Halloween, which gave her prominence. What we wouldn’t have imagined is that she’s age mates with talk show host Ellen DeGeneres. Aside from having the same hair length, they were also both born in 1958. Jamie is yet to celebrate her 61st birthday in December 2019, though.
The Freaky Friday actress is scheduled to appear in the 2019 neo-noir comedy Knives Out and has also received a Saturn Award nomination for her role in Halloween 2018. After more than a decade of not performing stand-up comedy, DeGeneres appeared in a 2018 Netflix special.
Sarah Hyland and Jennifer Lawrence - 29
Both born in 1990, Jennifer Lawrence and Sarah Hyland barely look like they are about to bid their 20s goodbye. Hyland is best known for appearing in Modern Family, while Lawrence has a long list of award-winning credits.

Forest Whitaker is known for his mature and dignified roles in films like The Crying Game and Arrival. Meanwhile, comedian/actor Eddy Murphy is known for his light, humorous roles in films like Coming to America and The Nutty Professor.
The two actors are both 58, but Murphy appears much younger. It could be because of the roles he lands. Murphy is making a big-screen comeback in 2019 with the movie Dolemite is My Name after 2016's Mr. Church. Whitaker, on the other hand, has appeared on the series Empire and the 2019 film Finding Steve McQueen.
NeNe Leakes and Lisa Bonet - 52
If there’s one thing we can agree about Lisa Bonet, it's the fact that she seems to have discovered an anti-aging secret that makes her seem to age backward. She is age-mates with TV personality/ actress NeNe Leakes, who also doesn’t look her age.
Interestingly, the two were born just one month apart in 1967; with Bonet scheduled to celebrate her 52nd birthday in November 2019 and Leakes in December. Leakes is scheduled to appear in the upcoming 2019 film How High 2, while Bonet’s last acting role was in Ray Donovan in 2016.
Michael J. Fox and George Clooney - 58
Actor George Clooney is just one month older than Michael J. Fox, and they both turned 58 in 2019. We can’t help but picture Clooney as a middle-aged man, given the roles he’s played over the years. However, Fox seems younger and could be mistaken for someone who's in his 40s.
Fox, who famously starred in the Back to the Future films, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease back in 1992. This eventually led him to depression. He got help and has since been a passionate advocate for the disease research through his foundation. Infamous for being a perennial bachelor, Clooney has since settled down and has welcomed twins with wife Amal in 2017.
Keira Knightley and Carly Rae Jepsen - 34
It seems like it was just yesterday when our airwaves couldn’t stop playing singer Carly Rae Jepsen’s hit Call Me Maybe in 2012. At that time, Keira Knightley already had a long list of film credits starting from when she appeared in Innocent Lies way back in 1995.
Both born in 1985, Knightley is just a couple of months older than Jepsen. But for some reason, the Good Time singer has a more youthful look and looks like she's in her late 20s. Jepsen recently released her new album, Dedicated, in 2019. Knightley recently appeared in the 2019 films Berlin I Love You and The Aftermath.
Michael Gambon and Chuck Norris - 79
Chuck Norris will forever stay etched in our minds for the meme spawned from his appearance on Walker Texas Ranger and his career in martial arts. English actor Michael Gambon, who's known for his role in the Harry Potter films as Dumbledore, has won numerous awards in recognition of his skills as an actor since the '60s.
These two actors were both born in 1940. And as shocking as it may sound, Norris is actually seven months older than Gambon. The former looks at least a decade younger, and it could be due to all the workout he gets from his being a martial artist.
Kylie Jenner and Maisie Williams - 22
We have practically watched Maisie Williams and Kylie Jenner grow up on our screens. Williams had her acting debut back in 2011 in the hit series Game of Thrones. Kylie is part of the famous Kardashian-Jenner clan, and we were introduced to her through the reality show that chronicles the life of her family.
Now 22 years old, Kylie takes pride in being recognized as the world's youngest billionaire thanks to her beauty brand, Kylie Cosmetics. Aside from her small-screen success, Williams has also made a mark on the big screen. She appeared in the 2019 film Then Came You and is also scheduled to star in The New Mutants in 2020.
Ed Helms and Seth Green - 45
Seth Green and Ed Helms are both comedic actors and age-mates. Helmes was born in January 1974, just a month before Green. That makes them both 45 in 2019. However, Green barely looks like he’s in his 40s.
These two are still working on their retirement investment with stints in multiple movies. Helms is part of the 2019 films Corporate Animals and Penguins. Green, on the other hand, has Changeland and the upcoming movie Wednesdays. Helms has a Teen Choice Award for his role in The Hangover Part III, while Green has won several awards including three Primetime Emmys.
Heather Graham and Julie Bowen - 49
We know actress Heather Graham from films like Bowfinger and The Hangover movies. Julie Bowen appeared on Boston Legal and, most recently, on Modern Family. Besides their list of comedic roles, these two are both 49 with their birthdays just about a month apart.
Due to heart problems, Bowen has a pacemaker, which she got in her early twenties. Fortunately, it hasn’t hindered her that much; evident in the success she has achieved in her career. Graham practices transcendental meditation, a habit she’s kept since 1991. Bowen is currently busy filming the upcoming movie Hubie Halloween, while Graham has three big-screen productions.
Paul Rudd and Rory McCann - 50
Paul Rudd is yet another actor who doesn’t appear to age. Now at 50, he doesn’t look it when compared to his age-mate, Scottish actor Rory McCann. The two were both born in the month of April in 1969. We know McCann for his role as “The Hound” in Game of Thrones, while Rudd plays Ant-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies.
They are also both actively involved in social/political activism and charity work. Rudd supports the Stuttering Association for the Young (SAY), which assists young people with speech disorders. McCann supports the Scottish Green Party and even appeared in a broadcast of the parliament’s general election in 2007.
Serena Williams and Paris Hilton - 38
Tennis champion Serena Williams doesn’t need any introduction. But did you know that she's the same age as socialite/fashion designer Paris Hilton? Williams had her first Grand Slam victory in 2003 around the time when Hilton graced our screens in the reality show The Simple Life.
We have to agree that both women look markedly younger for 38; with Williams about to turn that age in September 2019. However, Hilton seems significantly younger—and it just might be because of her great genes. In 2019, she modeled at the New York Fashion Week for The Blonds and also released a song in collaboration with Belgian musicians Dimitri Vegas & Lee Mike.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and John Cho - 46
Since Dwayne Johnson crossed over to acting after a leaving the wrestling world behind, he’s been cast in roles depicting him as the “gentle giant” or a father figure. On the other hand, Korean/American actor John Cho is best known for his comedic roles in the Harold & Kumar films.
Both actors are 47, which comes as quite a surprise because Cho looks as if he’s in his 30s. As for work, Johnson has three film credits in 2019—Hobbs & Shaw, Fighting with My Family, and the upcoming Jumanji The Next Level. Cho has two acting projects in 2019, including the upcoming drama Tigertail and Wish Dragon.
Shaquille O’Neal and Eminem - 47
Retired basketball player Shaquille O’Neal and rapper Eminem were both born in 1972. Eminem is yet to celebrate his 47th birthday in October, making him eight months younger than O’Neal. After his successful basketball career, O’Neal ventured into business and recently joined the board of the pizza franchise Papa John’s in 2019.
Eminem, born Marshall Mathers III, started the year 2019 collaborating with several artists including 50 Cent, Ed Sheeran, and Boogie. He re-released The Slim Shady LP to celebrate the album’s 20th anniversary. He also made the announcement that he’s been sober for 11 years now.
